Dhanya Mary Varghese was born in Koothattukulam nearMuvattupuzha, Kerala, India. She completed schooling atSt. Josephs Higher secondary school and M.K.M. Higher SecondarySchool, Piravom. She is the product of famous institutionKalabhavan. She was a student of St. Teresa's Collegein Kochi.She came to the Malayalam movie industry as a junior artist,She was one of the group dancers in the song Thottuvilichalo.. in themovie Swapnam Kondu Thulabharam.She made her acting debut in the Tamilfilm Thirudi and later debuted in Malayalam through Nanma directedby Sharath Chandran Vayanad. She rose to prominence through her rolein Thalappavu. She later acted in several Malayalam films such asVairam: Fight For Justice, Kerala Cafe and Nayakan. Shewas one of the anchors in "Vanitha Asianet-Film awards 2009". Sheappeared on several Malayalam musical albums. She appeared as a guestjudge in the 2010 season of the music reality-television programIdea Star Singer on Asianet.

Personal life

Dhanya got engaged on November 14, 2011 with John, Winner ofTharolsavam program in Kairali channel. John andDhanya got married on January 9, 2012 at Mateer Memorial Church,Trivandrum. After marriage she retired from film industry. The couplewas blessed with a baby boy Johan on 13 July 2013.
